Haiku tends to focus on our relationship with the natural world, so it features the seasons, weather, the night sky, animals and plants. Interestingly, I learned today that when walking around in our garden waiting for inspiration to strike or wandering about in a wood somewhere we are engaged in a gingko, which is the act of walking in nature. It seems it is never too late to learn something new!
Here are a few of mine then inspired from walking here and there and nowhere in particular!
in the suburbs
dandelions
dandelions
dandelions
everywhere...
a white butterfly
flutters
over bodies baking in the sun
happy as the lark
a young sparrow sitting
on a wheelie bin
summer garden
sunbathing
the neighbour's cat and me
;)
Happy Haiku!
